Our Partners

The following partners are essential to NICST’s mission and philosophies. Like us, they value life, innovation, and family, and we are proud to call them partners!

A special thanks to these partners! Please know that helping one of our partners helps NICST in our life-saving mission.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) is our largest supporter. Our founder Mark Ruefenacht received Armstrong, our foudingdog, from GDB, and we continue to receive dogs from this organization. Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in the US, and together with GDB, we work to help diabetics avoid the complications of the disease.

Nylabone (A division of Central Garden & Pet)

We’re honored that the NICST Training Center carries the Nylabone name! As our first commercial partner, the family behind Nylabone has supported us since 2005. They provide us with financial support for The Nylabone Training Center in addition to food and toys that our dogs-in-training enjoy every day.

Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation

Like us, Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) strives to strengthen the relationships between people and animals. In 2017 we launched a  program, Homeless to Hero Canines, to receive and train ARF rescues. Together, we value the life of every animal, and this partnership is in line with our “green philosophy” of training existing dogs for life-saving work.

Purina

We are proud to partner with Purina in their mission to help keep people and pets together in times of crisis by promoting pet welfare causes, sustainable practices and sponsoring events that help bring people and pets together. Their support is helping to ensure a positive, meaningful difference in the lives of our community.

Bollinger Canyon Animal Hospital

The professional and compassionate staff at Bollinger Canyon Animal Hospital has been caring for our dogs for years. The team understands the lives and needs of service dogs, and we have trusted them to care for dogs while they’re in training and after placement. We’re grateful for the support of these expert veterinarians and staff!

Redbarn Pet Products

Redbarn Pet Products is our official treat sponsor, donating cases of Protein Puffs, a natural treat our dogs truly love, on a monthly basis. These tasty training treats, packed with 75 percent protein and less than one calorie per treat, allow us to properly train, reward, and fuel our dogs in a healthy, sustainable way. Natural is not just a trend at Redbarn, it’s their food philosophy, and we’re proud to join forces with like-minded individuals.

Chewy

We’ve partnered with Chewy, a one-stop-shop for your furry best friends. New to Chewy? When you place an order through this link, Chewy will donate $20 to D4D! Another bonus – you’ll save 30% on your first order. When you shop with Chewy you’re helping D4D create life-saving partnerships.

Diabetes Youth Families

Diabetes Youth Families

We’re delighted to partner with Diabetes Youth Families (DYF). Their mission, much like Dogs4Diabetics, is to improve the quality of life for those affected by diabetes. DYF provides diabetes camps and recreation programs to children, teens, families, and adults with Type I Diabetes. Their most well-known program, Bearskin Meadow Camp, is one of the nation’s longest-running diabetes camps. We believe at D4D it’s important to surround yourself with a tribe of people who also understand life with diabetes – that’s why we’re excited to grow our community and collaborate with DYF.
