Emily started her journey with NICST in 2019 as a volunteer with a passion for dog training. After seeing the positive impact that NICST has on both people and pups, Emily decided she wanted to do more. She became a Canine Training Partner and helped foster our dogs in training. During this time Emily had also put in an application for her own service dog. On March 20th, 2022 Emily was placed with her service dog, Suzette, who continues keeping her safe to this day. Emily continued volunteering and learning about service dogs, and in 2024, was hired as our Training Assistant. Emily assists in many aspects, such as scent training, task training, client training, recertifications, and more.
“Training service dogs has been my dream since I first walked through the doors at NICST. We have a great team that I’m so grateful to be a part of, both pups, and people. These dogs save lives, just like my Suzette. Each and every dog placed through our program creates a positive change in their clients life: between lifestyle, physical, mental well being, and so much more. This organization is a family filled with love, support, and understanding. I love being a part of making these partnerships come to life.“
